TOPIC: Multisites install and config

Multisites install and config 11 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi I have currently have 2 separate websites
1.www.ultragts.com.au/
and
2.www.wastewateraustralia.com.au/

I want to share articles(news) from no1 and display on site 2

I don't really want to totally convert sites to Slave.

I have installed multi sites component and article sharing on site no 2?

How do I configure to retrieve a category from site number 1 and display on site number 2?

If you want to keep both website (1) and (2) independent and in the same time allows the site (2) be able to read the articles from site (1) then you need to create in the site (2) a fake slave site that would define the same connection than the site (1).
So that the "article sharing for JMS" will be able to propose you the site (1) in the list of site.

In summary
- Go in site 2
- Install JMS (that you did)
- Install the article sharing (that you did)
- Create a fake slave site with the site (1) DB connection

Now you can connect on the site (1) from the site 2.

To have the DB parameters, you need to copy an existing website.
Otherwise, you setup a slave site for a fresh joomla installation and this is during the joomla installation that you will enter the DB parameters.

You need to select a "template site" to replicate to have the new DB parameters available.

We also have a billable support that you can order at www.jms2win.com/en/joomla-multisite?page...35&category_id=1

In this case, we work with skype and teamviewer to allow you sharing our desktop during the support. So we can teach you in the same time that we are doing the job with you online.
