By the way, most of my clients site start with numbers since most of the sites are addresses.

Trying to add quote in site prefix will not solve the issue.
You have to start with a letter because, as you notice it, JMS does not add back quote in the table name as most of the joomla component.
Solve that would require to make a lot of changes and you are recommended to put a letter in front of the table prefix to fix that event if MySQL provide a solution for that. It is not implemented like that for the moment. So this is a constraint.

I have normally improved that in the JMS 1.3.30 that will be released soon.
