YES but this files (slave site one) is NOT read.
This is the (master index) /multisites/config_multisites.php that is read and used.

Understood, this is the issue I am faced with. Would it be 'possible' to have the slaves read that file in this case?

NO.

It will only read the slave site AFTER the master index is read or you have developped something special that bypass the Jms Multisites processing.
